Successful filming day!
I think Monday was the first time our group has said we'll do something and actually followed through! So that alone, is an achievement. We all met at 9 in the morning, which again, another achievement, worked out really well as it was particularly bright out, which made perfect filming conditions. The car park was also perfectly quiet and eerie due to it being such an inhumane time to be up, especially during a half term...
Firstly we filmed Anna coming out from the lift, into the car park, which again links strategically well with the shots we did in the school lift. We chose to film Anna holding the red jacket in her arms as we wanted to highlight her transformation, as this is the key element to our film. Originally we were going to have Anna emerge from the lift with her sleek black blazer on, but then we thought the change may be a bit vague for the audience to identify. With this thought in mind, we thought most effective move would be that Anna gets the jacket from inside the boot of her car, where she quickly and efficiently puts in on.
A perfectly placed trolley was also in the car park which of course caused for the famous dolly/tracking shot technique. Although here, we ended up doing some sort of 360 degree shot of Anna, as well as the car, which actually worked really well, hopefully it looks just as good when we upload it to iMovie next week
Overall, Monday was the most productive filming session we could have asked for!! We managed to get all the shots we'd spoken about, as well as new and intresting ones from different angles, in order to stick to our plan of 'fast paced' shots throughout! Hopefully, we never have to return to the freezing cold car park and that when we upload the footage, everything is perfect, with our group it seems, their is always a hitch.. However, so far, we are so happy we've finally got out there and filmed, what is hopefully, our final scenes.
Here are a few snaps of the mornings adventures, as well Rachel and Sinead, or as we re named them..Phil and Grant.

Perfect location
These images just confirm how perfect this car park is for our final scenes of our opening. Firstly, it seems the car park itself is hardly ever used, which instantly creates an eerie atmosphere, which we feel is an important aspect, perhaps due to our genre.
Secondly, the car park is on top of a building therefore the lighting is at times, excellent, although of course challenging to capture, due to the weather and it's unreliability.
As if not good enough, a lift opens straight onto the car park, which works and links to our footage we already have of Anna walking into our school lift. The idea of her character then suddenly appearing in the car park also adds to our fast paced film shots we wanted throughout.. Now to just set the date and get filming!

Potential Filming vlog/Un-organisation
Attempting to un-successfully film in the snow... Lighting or no lighting, this should not be attempted, far too cold!

Filming
On Friday, we returned to the glamorous filming location of the school toilets. After watching back our previous footage with a critical and truthful eye we decided that a few shots weren't as smooth as we'd hoped. So we decided to re film the panning up shot of Anna by the sink as she takes off her hundreds of bracelets, which is a rather long process when filming take after take! Eventually we were a lot happier with the shot. We then decided to attempt to get a high angled shot of Anna's hands in order for the audience to view the small yet important detailing of Anna removing her bracelets. It is very important that the emphasis is on Anna's change, as this is what hopefully creates a sense of mystery for the audience. In this image, Sinead was standing on the sinks as Anna yet again removed her bracelets. We feel its particularly important to get a variety of shots from different angles!
Taking full advantage of Sineads mums 'baby tripod' we decided to film shots of Anna in the school lift, with the camera in the corner. This created a 'CCTV' atmosphere that we all really liked. Again, making the audience hopefully question 'who is this girl?' We also filmed a shot with Anna glancing quickly at the camera, perhaps creating a sense of worry that she believes 'everyone knows'...
